CO-EDUCATION.. Essay post for students .(Essay post)

Hi . This is TNWRITES . In today's post we are going to discuss abour essay CO-EDUCATION

Co-education means the teaching of both boys and girls in the same school, college or university under the same roof. First of all advanced countries  adopted this system but now developing countries  are also introducing this system.

There are, no doubt, many advantages  of this system. The first advantage of co-education is that it is an economical system. If boys and girls are taught together, there will not be any need for opening separate schools  for boys and girls. They can study in the same institution by the same staff.

The other advantage of co-education is that if men and women are taught together, it will develop their personality to the maximum. They will not feel any shyness from each other. In this way they can become useful members of the society.

Again if they are taught together, it will create a sense of healthy competition among them. In this way they will work hard and pay  serious attention to their studies. Moreover, they will have an opportunity  to study from the most learned teachers. So this system will help raise educational standard.

Another argument in favour of co-education is that boys and girls have to live together as husband and wife in their later life. If they are taught together from the very beginning, they can understand each other very well. So they may lead a better life as husband and wife.

Still another advantage of co-education is that if this system is introduced, there will be no problem of discipline among the students. The boys behave decently in the company of girls. They do not use rough and abusive language in the presence of girls. They also dress properly and talk mannerly . Similarly, the girls will also lose their fear of the boys if they are taught with them.

But this is only one side of the picture. There are certain disadvantages of co-education. First, co-education is against the law of Nature. Girls and boys are temperamentally different from each other. They have different duties to perform. A girl is required to receive education which can make her a good wife and a good mother. While a boy is required to receive education which can make him a good husband and a good father. A uniform education, therefore, cannot help them be expert in their respective  fields. Thus the very idea of co-education is wrong.

Then co-education is against our traditions. It will develop immoral relations between boys and girls. Young boys and girls may fall a victim to their emotions. The story of the young generation in the advanced countries is pitiable. Moreover, our religion, Islam disallows free mixing of boys and girls.

Again, in developing countries like Pakistan, it is not an economical measure. In our country, colleges are few. These are already over-crowded . Co-education can prove economical only in the countries where the number of students in colleges are very small.

So we should adopt this system with great care. We may adopt it in professional  colleges where the ultimate purpose of education is the same. However, in imparting general education, it is not necessary.

Remember me in your prayers ......
