Our class chalked out a programme to spend a Sunday at Changa Manga. We requested our professors and they agreed to accompany us. Ample preparations were made before Picnic , the place, the schedule and who would get what , was decided upon by the class. The scene at the picnic spot looked just like a big fair. There were hundreds of students and other persons who had come there to enjoy a picnic. We selected a place and spread a big Carpet there. Proper instructions were given so that there was no confusion on any account and no one could get lost.
The blue Lilies were in full bloom. The bushes and the wind chime trees creating music in the area was a beautiful sight to watch. All the students sat on the lush green ground in the open sunshine. Light refreshment was provided. All the students were served with sandwiches and apple juice. On the suggestion of our teachers, some recreational activities were organized. Poem recitation, mono-acting, extempore speeches, jokes, songs, dances etc. were performed by the students. All the students actively participated in all this fun.
"A picnic is more than eating a meal, it is pleasurable state of mind."
The programme went on will. We started cooking. Some of us started boxing with the flour. They were kneading it and gasping Peeling of onions was not an easy job. After a great difficulty we lit fire. Anyhow, the lunch we prepared was really tasty and we ate to our fill. Eating together was equally full of fun and so all the students enjoyed their lunch.
After lunch, we relaxed for some time. Our teachers announced that all had to leave the picnic spot at 5:00 p.m. They ordered that all should board the bus by 4:45 pm. By then, the students were free to do whatever they liked. It was time to play and enjoy various games like badminton, cricket, football, hide and seek etc. The students felt like free birds. They scattered in groups. Some went to 'The Lake’ to enjoy boating. Some boarded ‘The Tram’ to have a round of the forest and enjoy the beauty of nature. The students explored the various facets of the place. They were visiting and enjoying while learning at the same time. Some enthusiastic ones could also be seen clicking photographs.

When we were tired, we sat down in a circle and a music programme started. Our professor of Urdu played on harmonium. Some students presented very good songs and ghazals. While some students entertained us with tit-bits and jokes. Parcel game was the most amusing and funny event of the day. When the music playing in the playground stopped, the student who had the parcel, took out a slip and had to do whatever activity was mentioned in it. It was real fun to see even the shy ones, making an effort to act, as per instructions. It was quite interesting for everyone, even for the teachers, who participated willingly in it. A group of four students played their transistors and tape recorders. They danced and clapped along with the music. Then we were served with tea which our teachers had prepared out of their love for us.
How time flies? Before we know, the instructions for departure were given. We boarded the bus . Our CR counted the students so that no one was left behind . The bus started off ar 5:00 p.m. We reached back our university at 7:00 p.m. We were feeling happy and satisfied . The picnic thus came to an end . But its memory will last forever .
